Stop Shop May Be Closing

The Northeastern supermarket chain announced at its investor meeting last week that it will be closing several underperforming stores. Ahold Delhaize, the Netherlands-based owners of Stop Shop, Food Lion, and Hannaford, said it will close several underperforming locations.

WEB Stop Shop plans to close stores as it eyes a turnaround. The Northeastern chain's value proposition and pricing are simply not competitive in the current market.
