Sakha Republic Hay Metric Ton

Sakha Republic triples hay procurement target, reaching 1 million metric ton

Announcement follows Sakha Republic governor's call for hay production increase.

The Russian Republic of Sakha, also known as Yakutia, has achieved a significant agricultural milestone by procuring 1 million metric tons of hay, exceeding its target by three times.

High-quality hay crop

Sakha's minister of agriculture, Gavril Kirillin, praised the region's farmers for their success. "This achievement demonstrates the hard work, skill, and commitment of our agricultural community." The minister highlighted the high quality of the harvested hay.

Governor's challenge

Sakha's boost in hay production follows a call by Governor Aysen Nikolaev for increased hay production to support the region's growing livestock sector. With abundant natural grasslands and harsh climatic conditions, the Sakha Republic is well-positioned for hay production.

Economic impact

The increased hay procurement is expected to have positive economic implications for Sakha. The hay will provide a reliable and nutritious feed source for the region's livestock, contributing to their health and productivity. In addition, it could lead to increased exports of hay to other regions of Russia.
